Bullish receives MiCAR authorisation for EU-wide trading and custody

Congratulations to Bullish on obtaining BaFin authorisation under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR)!

With the authorisation announced on 5 September 2025, Bullish Europe GmbH, based in Frankfurt, can offer spot trading and custody of crypto-assets to institutional clients across the European Union.

From national license to EU passport

The step builds on the German licenses Bullish obtained in December 2024 (see our earlier post). MiCAR now replaces the national approach with a harmonised EU framework. A single authorisation in one member state allows a crypto-asset service provider to serve clients in all others.

For existing license holders, the uplift is not a formality. They have to review their business model, governance, client protection, custody arrangements and documentation against the MiCAR requirements and the regulatory technical standards.

Our role

FinPlanet acted as Bullish's sole consulting partner in the MiCAR authorisation process, working alongside the legal advisers. We are proud to have supported Bullish on this path.

We congratulate the entire Bullish team on this milestone for the European digital asset market.
