Until today, only a few institutions are authorized to offer crypto custody to customers in Germany. Currently, only seven institutions have a license to carry out the crypto custody business in accordance with Section 1 (1a) sentence 2 No. 6 KWG. In addition, there are six other institutions which, according to their own statements, offer the business under a provisional license in accordance with Section 64y KWG.

A few companies have also published that a license application has been submitted.
