Survey: euro stablecoins and tokenised money market funds are gaining importance

At the Crypto Assets Conference in Frankfurt in March 2025, we surveyed representatives of more than 30 financial institutions together with Cashlink. The results show that stablecoins and tokenised money market funds are moving from experiment to strategic topic.

Key findings

  • 59% expect the euro stablecoin market to catch up.
  • 74% see money market funds becoming more important within their own institution, and 42% of all respondents even see a significant increase.
  • 38% see a strategic opportunity, and a further 38% are evaluating the topic.
  • Most frequent use cases over the next 24 months: remittances, DeFi, collateralisation, payments.

The survey was conducted during the expert workshop “Stablecoins and Tokenized Money Market Funds”, led by Dr. Dirk Sturz and Marius Bauer, CFA, together with Michael Duttlinger and Simon Censkowsky of Cashlink. You can find all results in the PDF below.
